Because of its accurate thickness and temper, it is universally used for shimming applications in explosive atmospheres and where corrosionproblems exist. Due to its excellent forming quality, it may be lightly drawn, blanked or stamped and is used extensively in metal sculpture. Brass shim stock is a half hard, cold rolled, CDA 260 Alloy.
